Scientist B/C Vacancies | Clinical Research/Molecular Biology/Biostatistics/Reproductive Biology @ NIRRH

NATIONAL INSTIUTE FOR RESEARCH IN REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH (NIRRH)

Applications are invited upto 17th August 2009 for the following posts scientific posts, under ICMR Research Cadre at the National Institute for Research in Reproductive Health, Mumbai.

(1) Scientist ‘B’ - 2 vacancies (Pay Band-3 Rs. 15600-39100+ Grade Pay Rs. 5400 and other allowances as admissible under the rules) Out of two one post is reserved for othropaedicaly handicapped with minimum degree of disability of 40%.

i) Vacancy No. 1 – (Clinical) (Reserved for OBC)

Qualification and Experience

Essential: MBBS Degree recognized by MCI.

Desirable: i. MD in Obstetrics and Gynecology or three years clinical/research
experience in the area of management of infertility.
ii. Knowledge of Computer Applications.

Job requirement

To pursue research programme in the area of reproductive health including infertility, prevention of sexually transmitted infections, expanding contraceptive choices, and other aspects of reproductive health.

ii) Vacancy No. 2 – (Molecular Biology) – UR

Qualification and Experience

Essential: 1st class M. Sc. Degree in Biochemistry /Microbiology/Applied Biology /Molecular Biology/Biotechnology /Life Sciences from a recognized University or equivalent.
OR
Ph.D in relevant subjects from a recognized University with at least second class M.Sc. degree in above mentioned subjects.

Desirable: i. Doctorate degree in the above mentioned subjects with first class in
relevant degree or three years research/teaching experience in related
discipline with publications in peer reviewed journals.
ii. Knowledge of Computer Applications.

Job requirement To participate and strengthen the ongoing research programmes in the area of reproductive health.
(2) Scientist ‘C’- 2 Vacancies in the Pay Band-3 Rs. 15600-39100+ Grade Pay Rs. 6600 and other allowances as admissible under the rules

Age: Not exceeding 40 years. Relaxable up to 5 years for Government servants, five years to SC/ST and three years to OBC candidates as per rule.

(2) Scientist ‘C’- 2 Vacancies in the Pay Band-3 Rs. 15600-39100+ Grade Pay Rs. 6600 and other allowances as admissible under the rules.

i) Vacancy No. 1- (Biostatistics) - UR

Qualification and Experience

Essential i) First class M.Sc. Degree in Statistics /Biostatistics from a recognized University OR
Ph.D degree in Statistics /Biostatistics from a recognized University with at least second class M. Sc. degree in above mentioned subjects.
ii) Four years research experience in the relevant areas of biostatistics related to health research.

Desirable i) Doctorate degree in Statistics / Biostatistics with first class masters degree in relevant subject.
ii) Additional post doctoral research/teaching experience in Biostatistics with publications in peer reviewed international journals.
iii) Knowledge of Computer Applications.

Job requirement To assist scientists in data analysis using modern statistical tools, and to strengthen on-going research programmes in the area of expanding contraceptive choices, reproductive tract infections, infertility, adolescent reproductive health.

ii) Vacancy No. 2 - (Reproductive Biology) - UR

Qualification and Experience

Essential: i) First class M.Sc. Degree in Biochemistry /Microbiology / Life Sciences /Molecular Biology / Biotechnology / Applied Biology / Reproductive Biology from a recognized University. OR
Ph.D degree in above mentioned subjects from a recognized University and at least second class M.Sc. degree in above mentioned subjects.
ii) Four years research experience in the relevant area.

Desirable: i) Doctorate degree in above mentioned subjects with first class
masters degree in relevant subjects.

ii) Knowledge of Computer Applications.
iii) Additional post doctoral research/teaching experience in the area of
reproductive biology with publications in peer reviewed
international journals.

Job requirement To plan and participate in the research programmes related to proteomics, toxicology, stem cell biology transgenic/knockout animals etc.
Note:- Ph.D degree in relevant subjects shall be treated equivalent to three years experience for all the above vacancies.

SC/ST/Physically handicapped and council’s employees are exempted from this payment of application fee. Incomplete/late applications or without postal orders/Demand Draft will not be entertained.
