Department of Scientific and Industrial Research, Government of India has certified Praj Matrix as a recognized In-House R&D laboratory unit. The R&D Campus has received status of Private Sector BioTech Park from the Government of Maharashtra. Located in the picturesque Pirangut Valley near Pune (India), Praj Matrix is built on a 5 acre property with a built-up area of about 85,000 square feet.

Responsibilities of the Position :
• Independently design and execute multiple gene cloning experiments, strain construction, gene knockouts.
• Work in a collaborative environment with other molecular biology and biotechnology specialists, interacting effectively across multi-functional teams to achieve project goals.
• Operate relevant lab equipments supporting the metabolic engineering research work like electrophoresis equipment, PCR machine, imaging system etc.
• Schedule and manage project work tasks in alignment with the overall team schedule for work flow
Education and Experience : Post Graduate or PhD in Molecular Biology or related field with 4 to 10 years of industrial research experience.
Demonstrated and Desired Skill sets and attributes:
• Mutagenesis, DNA isolation, DNA amplification, restriction digest, ligation, transformation into microbial hosts, basic microbiological practices.
• Technical report writing, presentation skills.
• Should have project management skills.
• Participate actively in scientific research while continuing to develop molecular biology skills.
• Basic knowledge of fermentation, basic understanding of biochemical pathways.
• The candidate is expected to work in a multi-disciplinary environment across various technology domains, work efficiently & effectively and possess the ability to deliver on commitments on time & within the budget.
• The candidate must demonstrate openness to new ideas and is expected to generate commercializable ideas for new products & processes.
• The candidate must possess the personal attributes of integrity & scientific creativity.
