Career Opportunities in Biodesign and Bioengineering
The Regional Centre for Biotechnology (RCB), a newly created institution in the National Capital Region (NCR) of Delhi, is looking for innovative faculty members working in the areas of Biodesign and Bioengineering to promote strategic basic research and an effective translational route of science into development of implants, devices, diagnostics and imaging. RCB recognizes that expertise and innovation in these core domains could be built through the involvement of engineers, clinicians, biological and physical scientists with skills and interests in technology innovation, automation and instrument design, It is critical for the development of fresh perspectives, and invites individuals with interdisciplinary profiles of the highest caliber and credibility to participate in this shared adventure to transform the biotech sciences.
A demonstrated record of scientific productivity in a wide range of areas in Biodesign and Bioengineering in the form of recent peer-reviewed publications in scientific journals of high international repute and/or internationally valid and productive patents is essential, as is some indication of independence in scientific thinking, and a minimum of three years of post-doctoral experience.
Faculty appointments will be offered from entry to program coordinator levels depending on the quantum of experience and the quality of scientific productivity. Investigators will be provided shared laboratory space and adequate start-up resources. They are expected to generate eventual extramural project-based funding. Interim laboratories of RCB are presently located in Gurgaon, neighboring the South Delhi area, which has adequate housing, transportation and schooling facilities.
The permanent laboratories are expected to come up in the NCR Biotech Science Cluster (BSC) at Faridabad within next two years. The selected faculty members will have an opportunity to work in close collaboration with the other member Institutions within the Biodesign Alliance.

Senior/Principal Scientist -Genetic Resources

The Job: To work in collection, conservation and characterization of genetic resources assess diversity of germplasm collections using morpho-agronomic and molecular markers data, developing representative subsets to identify trait-specific germplasm, and work with partners to enhance use of genetic resources, and develop project proposals for funding, and reports to donors.

The Person:

  • PhD in Plant Breeding and/or Genetics  
  • a minimum of 10-12 years of post-doctoral experience
  • Knowledge and experience of genetic resources collection, conservation, characterization, utilization and experience of analysis of large sized datasets and developing germplasm subsets is essential.
  • Preference will be given to candidates with a strong publication record.
  • Ability to work in a multidisciplinary, multi-cultural environment of the institute is important.

5. Candidates from outside India may apply on prescribed form downloaded from the website www. bausabour.ac.in. However, they have to submit the required fee in the form of demand draft as mentioned above before the commencement of the interview.
6. Requisite academic qualifications, experience, awards, medals, fellowship etc. will be considered which have been awarded till last date of application.
7. No enclosure/certificates will be accepted after last date of application.
8. Details of the research papers with a copy of reprint are essential to be enclosed. In case of books, photocopy of cover page, preface, contents and back cover page be attached with the application.
9. Candidate seeking employment against reserved vacancies must submit caste certificate issued by District Magistrate. Physically handicapped persons must submit the certificate of disability issued by the Medical Board of State Government Hospital.
10. Demand draft must be issued by a Nationalized Bank on or after the date of advertisement.
11. Candidate has to affix a recent passport size self-attested photograph on the application.
12. Candidate must bring all the original documents at the time of interview. Non-production of original certificates will amount to disqualification.
13. Selected candidate will be required to submit a bond on non-judicial stamp paper at the time of their joining for serving the University for at least three years.
14. Higher starting pay may be considered for exceptionally brilliant or highly experienced candidate on the recommendation of the selection committee and approval by the competent authority in special case.
15. Persons appointed may be transferred to any equivalent post within the jurisdiction of the University.
16. The service conditions will be governed by the University Acts, Statutes, Rules and Regulations framed and amended by the University from time to time.
17. The University reserves the right to increase/decrease or withdraw the posts, change the designation and cancel the post even after selection. No claim or correspondence will be entertained in this regard.
18. No TA and DA will be paid for appearing in the interview even if any interview is not held on scheduled date due to one or the other reasons.
