Career Opportunities in Biodesign and Bioengineering
The Regional Centre for Biotechnology (RCB), a newly created institution in the National Capital Region (NCR) of Delhi, is looking for innovative faculty members working in the areas of Biodesign and Bioengineering to promote strategic basic research and an effective translational route of science into development of implants, devices, diagnostics and imaging. RCB recognizes that expertise and innovation in these core domains could be built through the involvement of engineers, clinicians, biological and physical scientists with skills and interests in technology innovation, automation and instrument design, It is critical for the development of fresh perspectives, and invites individuals with interdisciplinary profiles of the highest caliber and credibility to participate in this shared adventure to transform the biotech sciences.
A demonstrated record of scientific productivity in a wide range of areas in Biodesign and Bioengineering in the form of recent peer-reviewed publications in scientific journals of high international repute and/or internationally valid and productive patents is essential, as is some indication of independence in scientific thinking, and a minimum of three years of post-doctoral experience.
Faculty appointments will be offered from entry to program coordinator levels depending on the quantum of experience and the quality of scientific productivity. Investigators will be provided shared laboratory space and adequate start-up resources. They are expected to generate eventual extramural project-based funding. Interim laboratories of RCB are presently located in Gurgaon, neighboring the South Delhi area, which has adequate housing, transportation and schooling facilities.
The permanent laboratories are expected to come up in the NCR Biotech Science Cluster (BSC) at Faridabad within next two years. The selected faculty members will have an opportunity to work in close collaboration with the other member Institutions within the Biodesign Alliance.
