Laboratory Researcher : Greenville, NC
The Division of Hematology/Oncology seeks a laboratory researcher to perform studies in the area of the molecular biology of cancer. The candidate is expected to have thorough working knowledge of molecular, cell biology and biochemistry. Research experience and extensive knowledge of the practical application of molecular biology technology and cell culture, including molecular cloning, protein expression, PCR, site-directed mutagenesis, gel electrophoresis, DNA analysis, and gene expression analysis at RNA and protein level are essential. Experience in managing the daily logistics of a research lab is highly desirable. The employee must have good technical skills, excellent troubleshooting ability, the ability to work well in group settings, good communication skills, and have a full grasp of procedures, be able to do independent thinking, conduct research studies with minimal supervision and be self-directed and motivated. The candidate must have a Bachelor of Science or preferably Master of Science in Biochemistry or Molecular Biology from an accredited University and have related research experience.
