Job Description
Responsibilities
  • Perform analyses on Next-Gen sequencing data including data derived in ChIP-Seq, RNA-Seq, miRNA-Seq and other experimental models to a customer base including leading pharmaceutical, biotech and academic institutions worldwide.
  • Define and implement quality control procedures at both technological and biological levels to ensure quality of extreme high volume of next-generation sequencing data.
  • Develop cutting-edge algorithms, pipelines, and applications to analyze data from our external clients. He or she will work closely with our software development team to serve as domain expert with in the team.
  • Develop and apply algorithms and statistical models to analyze and interpret next-generation sequencing data. 
  • Implement robust and automated pipelines and tools to support large scale bioinformatics analysis.
  • Perform analysis and interpretation on data from genomic platforms including expression, exon, tiling, promoter and others primary, secondary and tertiary data analysis as per client's requirement.
  • Perform data analysis and interpretation on other large data types in genomic context.
  • Develop bioinformatics analysis processes in collaboration with colleagues within the lab as well as with the multidisciplinary teams.
  • Manage work flows including experimental design, analyses of data quality, genome and meta-genome integration and others.
  • Write utility scripts, macros and/or custom programs or algorithms in support of biological discovery.
  • Coordinate with biologists and/or other bioinformaticians in the design of models summarizing/explaining experimental data; provide interpretive analyses of data derived from different experimental platforms to generate biological meaningful data set.
  • Prepare and present reports on experimental data to clients.
  • Proactively monitor technological developments and new genomic applications.
Desired Experience and Knowledge
  • Minimum four years Post Doc experience in the field of bioinformatics and/or functional genomics.
  • Demonstrated experience working in a high performance computing environment.
  • Demonstrated programming expertise in one or more object-oriented languages and scripting languages such as PERL or Python.
  • Demonstrated experience working with statistical/mathematical packages such as R/MATLAB or equivalent and the ability to relate the findings to biologists.
  • Demonstrated experience working with large biological data.
  • Demonstrated fluency working with Windows, Macintosh and/or UNIX/Linux environment.
  • Demonstrated experience extracting and describing complex high dimensional data and presenting those data in a biologically meaningful context.

  • Must have a strong publication record.
  • Should have experience in NGS software analysis packages.

     Education
Ph.D. or equivalent graduate degree in bioinformatics, biostatistics, computational biology or a biological/life science-related field. (Three years of specialized experience plus a Master’s degree is equivalent to a Ph.D.)
