The National Institute of Immunology, New Delhi, would like to recruit `Scientists’ in the grade of Staff Scientist –II / Staff Scientist III, depending on the length of relevant experience, for operating the following facilities using modern technology. The appointment shall be temporary in project mode, tenable till March 2014, with pay and allowances etc. admissible as per the recommendations of VIth Pay Commission of the Government. Other benefits include Medical reimbursement for self only.
1. Ultra-High Throughput Sequencer - 1 post
Job Description Devising and conducting experiments using the Ultra-High Throughput Sequencing platform, processing and analysing results and data, demonstrating and training other members of the institute to use the sequencing platform and providing sequencing services to other members.
2. Flow Cytometer - 1 post
Job Description Maintenance, supervision and operation of Flow Cytometer machines used for detecting low level fluorescent labeling of particles, computerized data processing for wide variety of applications, analysis of data using appropriate software, installing and operating dedicated acquisition / analytical softwares, help in planning and execution of experiments using flow cytometry and training new users. Candidates should possess R & D experience in biomedical imaging, instrumentation operation and maintenance, experimental design and execution. Experience in flowcytometry would be preferred
3. GC/MS -LC/MS System - 1 post
Job Description Maintenance and operation of GC/MS and LC/MS machines, training and helping users in experimental design, data acquisition, processing and analyses. Preference will be given to candidates with R & D experience in instrument operation and software based analysis.
4. X-Ray Diffraction System - 1 post
Job Description The scientist will oversee the operation and maintenance of the X-ray diffraction facilities. Responsibilities involve maintaining two rotating-anode X-ray generators, detectors, liquid nitrogen cryosystems and related components. The scientist will also be responsible for aligning the X-ray optics and providing day-to-day maintenance. In addition, the scientist will train users wishing to use the equipment, supervise on data collection as well as data processing. Preference will be given to those possessing experience in macromolecular crystallography.
QUALIFICATION & PAY STRUCTURE:
Staff Scientist II – Pay Structure - Rs 15600 - 39100 with Grade pay of Rs 5400
Qualification - 1st class M.Tech / MSc with 3 years relevant experience OR M.D/ Ph.D.
Staff Scientist III –Pay Structure -Rs 15600 - 39100 with Grade pay of Rs 6600
Qualification -1st class M.Tech with 4 years relevant experience OR M.D / Ph.D with 2 years relevant experience.
