Vacant faculty positions
The
JNU has openings for faculty positions at the level of Professor,
Associate Professor and Assistant Professor (Backlog vacancies including
reserved vacancies) (Initially advertised vide Advertisement Nos.
RC/41/2011, RC/42/2011 and RC/44/2012) in the areas of specialization as
indicated against each. The essential qualifications/ scales of pay for
these positions are given below.
Candidates
with good academic record, teaching/research experience and working in
related areas of research are encouraged to apply. University also
solicits applications from candidates with research interests that are
interdisciplinary.
SCHOOL OF LIFE SCIENCES
12 Professor in Biostatistics/Biomathematics (Reserved for SC)
Specialization:
Experience in teaching a modern course in Biostatics/Bio-mathematics
(with emphasis on addressing biological questions) at post-graduation
level. Research in the area of Biostatics/Biomathematics/ applications
of Statistics in addressing biological questions, mathematical modeling
of biological systems and analyses of large-scale biological sample data
including genomics (microarray, next generation sequencing and gene
expression) as evidenced by quality research publications and guiding
Ph.D. students.
13 Professor in Immunology (Reserved for ST)
Specialization:
Experience in teaching a modern Course in Immunology at post-graduate
level. Research in the area of Immunology (including Cellular and
Molecular Immunology) as evidenced by quality research publications and
guiding Ph.D students.
14 Associate Professor in Cellular & Molecular Neurobiology (Reserved for SC)
Specialization:
Experience in teaching a modern course in Neuro-Biology/ Neuroscience/
Neurophysiology at post-graduate level. Research in the area of Cellular
and Molecular Neuro-Biology/ Neuroscience (including Glial-Biology and
neuronal electrophysiology) as evidenced by quality research
publications and guiding Ph.D students.
SCHOOL OF BIOTECHNOLOGY
15 Associate Professor (Reserved for SC)
Specialization
in: Cell Biology/Virology/ Microbiology/Immunology/ Medical
Biotechnology/ Medicinal Chemistry/ Structural Biology/ Bioengineering
Desirable:
1. Out of the 08 years of teaching and/or research experience (which is essential) atleast 03 years should be teaching.
2. Post doctoral experience with proven ability to attract extramural funding and publications in journals of international repute.

16 Professor in Nano-biotechnology (Unreserved)
M.
Sc. in Biological Sciences and Ph.D in the area of Nano-biotechnology

extensively in the area of Nano Science and Technology applied to
biological field in high impact journals. Other terms and conditions are
as per the minimum qualification criterion defined by the UGC
Regulations.
17 Professor in Chemistry of Nanoscience (Reserved for ST)
M.
Sc. in Chemistry and Ph.D in the area of Chemistry of Nanosciences as
evidenced from published work. Applicant must have published extensively
in the area of Nanoscience and Technology applied to the field of
Chemistry of Nanostructures in high impact journals. Other terms and
conditions are as per the minimum qualification criteria defined by the
UGC Regulations.
18 Associate Professor in Nano-biotechnology (Reserved for ST)
M.
