Announcement Job Vacancies at Centre for Mycorrhizal Research Area

About the Centre The Centre for Mycorrhizal Research (CMR) at The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) promotes cost-effective, environmental friendly alternatives to ensure higher plant productivity in marginal lands, unproductive lands, reclaimed lands and wastelands created by the industry. The Centre uses a beneficial group of microorganisms, known as mycorrhizal fungi, which form association with the roots of higher plants and has established their worth globally. In all its activities dedicated to technology innovation, the centre consciously builds in comprehensive dimensions that are environment-friendly, natural resource conserving and people-oriented.
Vacancies at the Centre
1. Regular position equivalent to Scientist B (Biochemistry) (One Post)
Qualifications essential: Doctoral degree in Biochemistry including relevant basic sciences and having made contribution to research/teaching in biochemistry as evidenced by published work/innovations and impact.
Desirable:
(i) Basic and practical knowledge in the field of biochemistry. (ii) Experience of biochemical approaches for microbial characterization. (iii) Experience in working with secondary metabolites from medicinal and aromatic plants.
2. Regular position equivalent to Scientist B (Agronomy) (One Post)
Qualifications essential: M.Sc. (Agriculture) with Doctoral degree in Agronomy having made contribution to research/teaching/extension education in the field of agriculture as evidenced by published work/innovations and impact.
Desirable: (i) Basic and practical knowledge of farming systems approach of agriculture research. (ii) Specialization and experience in production of field crops, nutrient and water management. (iii) Specialization and/or experience in the field of precision farming/organic farming/integrated nutrient management. (iv) Research experience in Salinity/Water Management and use of saline water in agriculture.
3. Junior Research Fellow (JRF) (Two Posts)
Qualifications essential: M.Sc. in Botany/Microbiology/Biotechnology/Life Sciences/Molecular Microbiology.
Desirable: (i) Basic and practical knowledge on molecular biology tools. (ii) Gene cloning and expression studies. (iii) Basic and practical knowledge on fungal and bacterial taxonomy. (iii) Basic and practical knowledge on basic microbiological techniques.
