Responsibilities
  • Perform analyses on Next-Gen sequencing data including data derived in Exom seq, Whole Genome Seq ChIP-Seq, RNA-Seq, miRNA-Seq and other experimental models to customer base including leading  pharmaceutical, biotech and academic institutions worldwide.
  • Develop and apply appropriate analytical pipeline and statistical models to analyze and interpret next-generation sequencing data.
  • Implement robust and automated pipelines and tools to support large scale bioinformatics analysis.
  • Perform data analysis and interpretation on other large data types in genomic context.
  • Develop bioinformatics analysis processes in collaboration with colleagues within the lab as well as with the multidisciplinary teams.
  • Actively participate in team meetings and present findings to individuals and groups
  • Define and implement quality control procedures at both technological and biological levels to ensure quality of extreme high volume of next-generation sequencing data.
  • Prepare reports and publication quality graphics summarizing experimental data including providing written documents to the business team.
  • Proactively monitor technological developments and new genomic applications.
  • Assist Process Lead / Team Lead in providing necessary training and guidance to team members in discharging their day to day responsibilities.
  • Drive a portfolio of activities that compliments project / program focused analysis.
  • Provide on the job training for new hires.
Desired Experience and Knowledge
  • 4 to 6 years industrial experience in Bioinformatics and / or functional Genomics.
  • Programming experience in one or more object-oriented languages such as Java/C++ or equivalent.
  • Experience in statistical/mathematical packages such as R/MATLAB or equivalent.
  • Experience in handling large biological data (mandatory).
  • Demonstrated fluency working with Windows, Macintosh and/or UNIX/Linux environment.
  • Programming experience in a scripting language such as Perl or Python.
  • Experience extracting and describing complex high dimensional data and presenting those data in a biologically meaningful context.
  • Experience working in a high performance computing environment
