Applications are invited from the Indian citizen in prescribed format for filling up 2 (Two) nos of posts of Asstt. Professor (Biotechnology) on temporary basis under the DBT-AAU Centre, AAU, Jorhat.

1. Name of the post : Asstt. Professor ( Biotechnology)

Pay scale: Rs. 15,600/- to Rs. 39,100/- + Grade pay , Rs. 6000/- p.m.

Qualification:

Essential:

I. Passed Bachelor's degree in Science

II. Secured 55% marks or an equivalent OGPA of 3.00 in 4 point scale or 7.00 in 10 point scale at the Master's Degree in relevant subject from an Indian University, or an equivalent degree from a foreign university.

*III. Qualified National Eligibility Test (NET) in the discipline in which NET is conducted Desirable : 1. Specialization in Molecular Plant Physiology/ Genomics/ Proteomics as evident from published work or specific degree. 2. Ph.D. degree in relevant area of specialization

* Note : i) Essentiality of NET can be waived off for the candidates holding Ph.D. degree provided it has been done with course work as prescribed by the UGC Regulations, 2009 and the candidate has atleast two full length publications having a NAAS rating not less than 4 on the last date of submission of application. ii) Those candidates with Ph.D. degree without course work will not qualify for NET exemption.

General Instruction :

A. Age limit as on 01.01.2013 : 38 years (maximum). The age is relaxable by the number of full years of service rendered in AAU/ICAR/ CSIR/DST/SAUs and other Govt. Institutions up to a maximum of 5 (five) years. B. 1. Filled in application should be accompanied by demand drafts amounting to Rs. 150/- for general category and Rs. 75/- for SC/ ST/PH candidates in favour of Registrar, AAU payable at Jorhat. 2. Demand drafts obtained before the date of publication of advertisement and after the last date of application will not be accepted. 3. A self addressed stamped (worth Rs. 6/-) envelope ( size 23cm x 10 cm) should be sent along with the application form. 4. Reservation for different categories of candidates will be as per Govt. of Assam Rules. 5. In- service candidates must send their application through proper channel. 6. Application form in prescribed format is to be submitted to the Registrar, AAU, Jorhat on or before January 12th, 2012. .

Such application should be accompanied by an IPO of Rs. 10/- at the time of submission of application. The necessary details and other relevant information may also be obtained from the office of the undersigned on payment of Rs. 10/-(Rupees ten only) in the form of IPO in favour of Registrar, AAU, Jorhat.

The filled in application and all other supporting documents along with a self addressed stamped envelope should reach the office of the Registrar, AAU, Jorhat on or before January, 12th 2012.
