This is a standing advertisement. There is no specific requirement on when a candidate can submit an application. Applications will be accepted throughout the year IIT Hyderabad invites applications from Indian nationals who are exceptionally bright and motivated, with an established record of independent, high quality research and commitment to teaching for positions of Assistant/Associate Professors and Professors at IIT Hyderabad (www.iith.ac.in) in the Departments of:

IIT Hyderabad's vision is to be the cradle of inventions and innovations, and simultaneously maintain the high teaching standards expected of an liT. The Institute has B.Tech program in 3 departments, M.Tech Program in 6 deprtments and Ph.D program in 11 departments. There are approximately 340 students in the B.Tech program, 100 in the M.Tech program and 70 in the Ph.D program. The Institute is in the process of setting up state of art Innovations Hub in all the 11 departments.

ASSISTANT PROFESSOR:

Pay Band 3 (Rs.15600-391 00) with AGP of RS.8000/-. For direct recruits, minimum pay in the PB-3 to be fixed at 30,000/- plus allowances. After completion of three years of service in PB-3 they will be placed in PB-4 (Rs.37400-67000) with AGP of RS.9000/plus allowances.


Qualification: The candidate must have Ph.D with first class or equivalent at the preceding degree in the appropriate branch with consistently good academic record.

Experience: At least 3 years industrial/research/teaching experience excluding however, the experience gained while pursuing Ph.D. Candidates preferably should be below 35 years of age

Assistant Professor on contractual basis

Candidates not eligible for direct recruitment may be put on tenure track for the regular post of Assistant Professor. At the entry level they may be placed in Pay Band - 3 of RS.15600-39100 with AGP of RS.6000/- with seven non-compounded advance increments (minimum starting pay of Rs.20140/-) shall move after 1 year to AGP of RS.7000

After 3 years in the above scale they will move to AGP of RS.8000/- with a minimum pay of RS.30000/-. On completion of 3 years service as Assistant Professor, they shall move to PB-4 (Rs.37400-67000) with an AGP of RS.9000/-.


ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR:

Pay Band 4 (Rs.37400-67000) with AGP of RS.9500/- For direct recruits, minimum pay in the PB 4 to be fixed at 42,800/-


Qualification: The candidate must have Ph.D with first class or equivalent at the preceding degree in the appropriate branch with consistently good academic record.


Experience: A minimum of six years teaching/research/professional experience of which 3 years should be at the level of Assistant Professor, Senior Scientific Officer/Senior Design Engineer in a research organization or industry as on the date of application. The candidate should have demonstrated adequate experience of independent research in terms of guidance of M.Tech and Ph.D students, publications in reputed journals and
conferences, patents, laboratory/course development and/or other recognized relevant professional activities.

PROFESSOR:

Pay Band 4 (Rs.37400-67000) with AGP of Rs.10,500/- p.m. For direct recruits, minimum pay in the pay Band to be fixed at Rs.48,000/-


Qualification: The candidate must have Ph.D with first class or equivalent at the preceding degree in the appropriate branch with consistently good academic record.


Experience: A minimum of ten years teaching/research/professional experience of which at least 4 years should be at the level of Associate Professor in a research organization or industry as on the date of application. The candidate should have demonstrated leadership in research in a specific area of specialization in terms of guidance of M.Tech, M.S and Ph.D students, strong record of sponsored research, publications in
reputed journals and referred conferences, patents, laboratory/course development and other recognized relevant professional activities.

Women candidates and applicants belonging to the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes are especially encouraged to apply.

The Institute provides support to cover relocation expenses for a new faculty member, and also provides significant start-up research grant. In addition, the Institute provides Cumulative Professional Development Allowance (CPDA) of RS.3 lakhs for every block of 3 years on reimbursable basis to meet the expenses for participating in international conferences, national conferences and paying the membership fee of various professional bodies and contingent expenses. The faculty and their families are covered by an attractive Contributory Health Services Scheme.
