It is proposed to fill up the temporary and time bound positions of Research Associate, Senior Research Fellow and Junior Research Fellow on contractual basis under the following projects on the basis of walk-in-interview. The eligible and desirous candidates fulfilling all the requirements are invited to appear before the Selection Committee for interview at VPKAS (ICAR), Almora on 10.05.2010 at 10.00 A.M.
1. DBT funded project “Rapid conversion of normal maize inbreds to quality protein maize and further enhancement of limiting amino acids in elite inbreds through marker assisted selection”
Research Associate (Two posts)
Essential Qualifications MSc/MSc (Ag.) in Biotechnology/Plant Breeding with experience in plant molecular biology
Desirable Qualifications Experience and knowledge of molecular biology techniques used in gene mapping, MAS transformation and cloning
Emoluments Rs. 16,000/- + HRA per month for M.Sc, Rs. 17,000/- + HRA per month for Ph.D. Holders
Age Below 40 years as on the date of interview.
4. NAIP funded project “Bioprospecting of genes and allele mining for abiotic stress tolerance (Rice & Maize)”
Senior Research Fellow (One post)
Essential Qualifications MSc/MSc (Ag.) in Biotechnology/Plant Breeding with experience in plant molecular biology
Desirable Qualifications Experience and knowledge of molecular biology techniques used in allele mining, transformation and cloning.
Emoluments Rs. 12,000/- + HRA per month
Age Below 35 years as on the date of interview
5. DBT funded project “Pyramiding multiple resistance genes using MAS for durable resistance against blast in the North West Himalayas”
Junior Research Fellow (two posts)
Essential Qualifications M.Sc./M.Sc. (Ag.) in Biotechnology/Plant Breeding with experience in plant molecular biology
Desirable Qualifications Experience and knowledge molecular biology techniques used in gene mapping, MAS, transformation and cloning
Emoluments Rs. 12,000/- + HRA per month
Age Below 35 years as on the date of interview.
