Qualifications:
For the posts of Assistant Professor/Scientist/Equivalent:
(i) PhD Degree in the concerned subject relaxable to M.Sc. (Master degree for the post in the discipline of Information Technology) with consistently good academic record i.e. 55%marks at Master’s level.
(ii) A relaxation of 5% from 55% to 50% of marks at Master’s level shall be provided to SC/ST categories.
(iii) A relaxation of 5% will be provided from 55% of marks to the PhD degree holders who have passed their master’s degree prior to September 1991.
(iv) For the candidates having Master’s degree, NET shall remain compulsory along with one publication in NAAS (National Academy of Agricultural Sciences, New Delhi) rated referred journal for recruitment to the post of Assistant Professor and equivalent in the disciplines in which NET is conducted. Essentiality of NET can be waived off for the candidates holding PhD degree provided it has been done with course work as prescribed by the UGC Regulations, 2009, and the candidate has at least two full-length publications having a NAAS rating not less than 4, on the last date of submission of application. Those candidates with PhD degree without course work will not qualify for a NET exemption. Further, this will be implemented with perspective date i.e. w.e.f. o1st January 2012.
For the candidates registered for PhD prior to 11.07.2009, NET essentiality for recruitment to the post of Assistant Professor and equivalent in the disciplines in which NET is conducted shall be exempted subject to the condition that:
a) The PhD degree of the candidate awarded in regular mode only;
b) Evaluation of the PhD thesis by at least two external examiners;
c) Open PhD viva-voce of the candidate had been conducted;
d) The candidate has published two research papers from his/her PhD work out of which at least one must be in referred Journal;
e) The candidate has made at least two presentations in conference/seminars, based on his/her PhD work.
(a) to (e) as above are to be certified by the Vice-Chancellor/Pro Vice-Chancellor/Dean (Academic Affairs)/Dean (University Instructions).
(v) ‘B’ in the 7-point scale with letter grades, 0, A, B, C, D, E & F shall be regarded as equivalent to 55%, wherever the grading system is followed.

- A candidate applying for more than one post should send separate application form for each post along with the prescribed application fee.
- Application fee once paid will not be refunded.
- The applicant must be a Citizen of India.
- Those PhD candidates (applying for the posts at Sr.No.1 to 40), whose registration in their PhD Programme is prior to 11.07.2009 and are not NET qualified, will have to submit the “Certificate of NET exemption”, issued in their favour. from the competent authority of University/Institution, from where they had qualified their PhD verifying therein points (a) to (e) prescribed at Sr.No.l(iv) under the heading “Qualification” above, with their application form, failing which their application is liable to be rejected straightway.
- The posts at Sr. 41 & 42 are for “bonafide Himachali’s” only.
- Candidate should be minimum of 18 years and not more than 45 years of age. The upper age limit is relaxable by five years for candidates belonging to the Scheduled Coste/Scheduled Tribe/Other Backward Class/Persons with Disabilities, of Himachal Pradesh only, as per provisions in Rules/Instructions of the H.P. Government. The minimum and maximum age limit shall be reckoned on the concerned lost date fixed for receipt of applications. It is further clarified that the upper age limit fixed in the advertisement shall not be applicable in case of candidates already in service in Government/Semi-Government/Recognized Institutions.
- These posts will be filled up purely on contract basis initially for a period of one year which may be extendable on year to year basis, as per policy of the State Government.
- The candidate selected for appointment to the above posts on contract basis shall have to execute a contract with the University i.e. Dr. YSP UHF as per rules of the University.
