Program Manager, Grants Manager and Advicer

Position available: PROGRAM MANAGER

Essential:

  • • PhD in any area of biomedical sciences
  • • Indian citizen or NRI/OCIs willing to relocate to Hyderabad
  • • Team management experience; should have managed teams of 4 or more members for at least 2 years.

Desirable:

  • • Postdoctoral experience
  • • Awareness of accepted global professional protocols & procedures
  • • Proven experience in managing large programs for effective implementation of organization's objectives both independently and as a member of a cohesive team, preferably within the settings of a research funding organisation or a university.

The position requires:

  • • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English; the position will play a major role with external and internal IA members, and liaising with the scientific community
  • • Ability to define project scope, goals and deliverables supporting the India Alliance Fellowship program in consultation with senior management
  • • Attention to detail to both macro and micro processes
  • • Commitment to high standards
  • • Vision and commitment to ensure that the India Alliance's mandates are met.

Major duties:

  • • This position will report directly to the CEO
  • • Responsible for planning, managing, and coordinating the India Alliance Fellowship program by performing following duties, which include but not limited to:
    1. Maintaining the India Alliance's external liaison activities and close collaborations
    2. Management of the Committee Meetings
    3. Oversee processes for grant evaluation, monitoring and impact measurement.
    4. Organize all workshops/ activities mandated by the IA
    5. Plans and oversees the organization's promotion activities
    6. Develop project plans and associated communication document
    7. Provide periodic reports to the CEO as required.

Work in close partnership with Grants Manager, Finance and Administration to ensure all IA activities are implemented professionally and smoothly.

The salary for this post will be based on experience. A probationary period is envisioned where the chosen applicant will be trained on all IA grants processes and familiarized with their duties. Please apply only if you fulfil all the "Essential" requirements.

  • • Ability to lead and manage the internal grants team to meet deadlines;
  • • Vision and commitment to ensure that the India Alliance's mandates are met.

Major duties:

  • • This position will report directly to the CEO
  • • Manage the grants team and ensure all IA processes are followed, which include, but is not limited to:
    1. Ensuring schemes are launched and grants are processed on time
    2. Organize Committee Meetings and ensure decisions are suitably conveyed
    3. Organize all workshops/ activities currently undertaken by the IA
    4. Provide reports to the CEO as required
  • • Work with Finance and Administration to ensure all IA activities are implemented professionally and smoothly

Position available: GRANTS ADVISER

Essential:

  • • PhD in a relevant biomedical sciences field
  • • Indian citizen or NRIs willing to relocate to Hyderabad, India
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English
  • • Ability to work to deadlines independently, and as part of a team

Desirable:

  • • Postdoctoral experience
  • • Administrative experience, within the context of a research funding organisation or a university will be an asset. (Training will be provided on the job)

The position requires:

  • • Ability to understand biomedical proposals and identify appropriate peer reviewers;
  • • Excellent communication skills;
  • • Attention to detail;
  • • Commitment to high standards;
  • • A strong desire to develop and apply administrative and business process skills;
  • • Ability to work in a team.

Grants Advisers will be trained in the following areas:

  • • Handling a portfolio of research grant applications and awards;
  • • Managing the processes associated with the grants;
  • • Selecting referees and maintaining positive relationships with peer reviewers;
  • • Liaising with the scientific community, developing positive relationships with applicants and grant-holders;
  • • Assisting in other activities of the IA as per need.
