IIT Madras invites applications from individuals with an established record of independent, high-quality research and commitment to teaching and research for faculty positions at the levels of: 

 ASSISTANT PROFESSOR (AP) 

 ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR (ASP) 

 The requirement of various Departmentis given below.

Bio Technology 

Associate Professor 

(i) Protein Folding and Dynamics. 

Assistant Professor 

(i) Bioprocess engineering (with specialization in cell systems engineering / synthetic biology / mammalian cell bioprocessing/downstream processing). BE/BTech degree in Chemical Engg. / Biochemical Engg. / Biotechnology or equivalent. 

(ii) Neural engineering (with specialization in brain– computer interfaces/neuroimaging. Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering/ Computer Science /other engineering disciplines). 

(iii) Single molecule biophysics. 

(iv) Basic Biomedical sciences (with specialization in transgenic vertebrate animal models involving proteomics and genome editing) Ph.D. in any area of Biomedical Sciences.

QUALIFICATION Ph.D., with first class or equivalent at the preceding degree in the appropriate branch with consistently good academic record throughout. Additional qualifications and specialization area for department wise are available at https://facapp.iitm.in as Annexure-1. 

B. EXPERIENCE 

Eligibility & Experience will be reckoned as on May 31, 2019. 

B.1. ASSISTANT PROFESSOR (Grade II & Grade I) 

B.1.1 . Assistant Professor (Grade II): Candidates with Ph.D. but with less than three years of industrial/research/teaching experience may be considered for this post. 

B.1.2 . Assistant Professor (Grade I): Candidates with at least three years industrial/research/ teaching experience excluding however, the experience gained while pursuing Ph.D. may be considered for this post. Candidates preferably should be below 35 years of age.

B.2. ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR At least 6 years industrial /research/teaching experience of which at least three years should be at the level of Assistant Professor / Senior Scientific Officer / Senior Design Engineer. (at AGP 8000 / Pay Level -12 or higher)
