Advertisement for the position of Scientist-H at NIAB, Hyderabad
Department of Biotechnology invites applications / nominations from Indian Nationals including nonresident Indians (NRIs) for the one post of ‘Scientist-H’ on Deputation (including short term contract)/Direct Recruitment basis) at National Institute of Animal Biotechnology (NIAB) Hyderabad, an autonomous institute of Department of Biotechnology, Government of India from the distinguished Scientists and visionary academic leaders having outstanding record of research accomplishments to establish strong centre of research to address the problems of livestock. Effective interpersonal and leadership skills and the ability and commitment to work effectively with colleagues as part of interdisciplinary team are required. The post carries HAG scale of Pay of Rs. 67,000/- (Annual increment @ 3 %) – 79,000/- with usual allowances as per the Government of India Rules.
The applicant should be below 55 years of age (relaxable for exceptional candidates) and should have following essential qualifications & experience:
(i) Ph.D in Veterinary Sciences/Animal Sciences/Modern Biology/Life Sciences or equivalent from a recognized university with a strong track record of research, academic accomplishment in terms of publications and patents and attracting generous research funding.
(ii) Evidence of leadership with 15 years of R&D experience in any one of the NIAB thrust areas related to Veterinary/Animal Sciences.
Applicant of Central Governments/State Governments/Universities/Public Sector Undertaking/Govt. Funded Research Organization/ Institutes/ autonomous bodies etc. can also apply for deputation/absorption subject to fulfilment of following conditions:
(i) Holding analogous post on regular basis; or
(ii) 3 years of regular service in post with Grade Pay of Rs 10,000/- or 5 years in the Grade Pay of Rs 8900/- in the parent cadre/Department and also possess essential qualifications and experience as mentioned above.
Responsibilities: The selected candidate is expected to establish a strong research programme to address the problems of livestock. Lead a group of scientists in the identified areas, establish Centre of Excellence, help the Director in the academic and administrative matters of the Institute and develop an ecosystem for communication, creative thinking and innovation.
General Conditions:

(ii) The date of determining the age limit shall be the closing date for receipt of applications.
(iii) The post will be for five years tenure initially or on attaining the age of superannuation as per Government of India rules, whichever is earlier.
