Summary of the Position:
We
are seeking an individual from the industry to join the Bio-analytical
group in the Biologics & Biotechnology Department at USP-India.
The
successful candidate must possess a strong background, preferentially
in the instrumentation and biochemical analysis of therapeutic peptides
and be motivated and passionate about conducting high quality scientific
research. As a member of the Bio-analytical group, this role will
involve responsibility for the design and execution of peptide and
protein related USP-NF activities, including analytical characterization
and validation. The job will require the ability to take responsibility
and to meet project timelines, a high level of independence and the
ability to work and communicate effectively with project teams.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Design peptide/protein analysis strategies.
Perform identification, assay, impurity specific tests for drug substances and drug products.
Conduct laboratory test procedures with minimal supervision and errors and interpret results correctly.
Review and evaluation of scientific literature in the relevant technical area.
Assist in purchase of laboratory equipment and lab management.
Troubleshoot instruments within the area of expertise.
Execute testing/analysis, record experimental data. Ensure clear and accurate transcription of results and calculations.
Routinely
apply personal experience, academic training, and technical insights to
solve complex problems in the laboratory and be able to work
independently.

UG:B.Sc - Bio-Chemistry
PG:M.Sc - Bio-Chemistry
Doctorate:Any Doctorate - Any Specialization, Doctorate Not Required
Minimum Requirements
Masters
degree in Analytical Chemistry/Biochemistry with not less than six (06)
years of industrial experience in the relevant field.
Hands-on experience on LCMS and HPLC as applied to peptides and proteins.
Working knowledge of MALS, UPLC, CD, Capillary Electrophoresis and NMR would be a plus.
Demonstrated progression in career with increasing responsibilities.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
The
candidate should have thorough scientific/technical expertise to
independently carry out characterization of peptides using HPLC &
LCMS. Should have handled HPLC/Empower, Chemstation platforms.
Analytical support using chromatographic techniques with particular
emphasis on size exclusion & reverse phase-HPLC. Proficiency with
Multiple-Angle Light Scattering (MALS), HPLC method development. Protein
characterization techniques such as CD, sequencing, SDS-PAGE, protein
estimation and UV-Vis spectrophotometry. Ability to write/execute
technical documents, SOP/STP and well versed with GxP.
