WALK-IN-INTERVIEW
Candidates are invited for a Walk-in-Interview on 15-11-2013 at the above address for the following temporary posts as detailed below. Candidates will not be entertained after 10.00 AM. Directions to the venue are given in the website.
Scientist - C (Non Medical) - one post
Concurrent Evaluation of Non-communicable Disease Programme in Clinic Settings (Tamil Nadu Health Systems Project-3)
Essential Qualification
a) 1st class Master’s degree from a recognized university in Computer sciences/ Social sciences/Economics/ Life sciences /Public Health/ Epidemiology (excluding biotechnology/microbiology/biochemistry)
OR
2nd class Master’s degree in the above subjects with PhD from a recognized university
b) Four years work/research/teaching experience in public health or related field after obtaining essential qualification
Desirable Qualification
PhD/ Data analysis skills/ field based public health experience in recognized institute(s)/ Ability to speak Tamil fluently and knowledge of computer applications.
Age Limit
Not exceeding 40 years for scientist-C and 35 years for scientist-B
Emoluments
c) Consolidated salary of Rs.38,184 + Rs. 6,660 as HRA per month for scientist-C
d) Consolidated salary of Rs.36,120 + Rs. 6,300 as HRA per month for scientist-B
Nature of Duties
 Supervise technical and administrative personnel in the project
 Provide expertise in the design, management and evaluation of project activities
 Field visits to various primary health centers and govt. hospitals in Tamil Nadu
 Analyze data using statistical software
 Prepare progress reports, activity reports and budgets
 Overall management of project
Duration 6 months

If no suitable candidate is found for scientist-C, the post may be filled as scientist-B with essential qualification (a) and salary (d) mentioned above.
Scientist - C (Medical / Non Medical) - two posts
Project HIV Epidemiology Training Programme
Essential Qualification
a) MBBS/BDS degree recognized by MCI/DCI (OR)1st class Master’s degree in Public Health / Epidemiology from a recognized university
b) 4 years research/teaching experience in public health/epidemiology after obtaining essential qualification.
Desirable Qualification
 MD (PSM or CM) or DNB (SPM) or Master’s degree/Doctorate in Public Health / Epidemiology/Relevant field from a recognized university
 Post doctoral research / teaching experience in relevant field in recognized institute(s)
 Knowledge of computer applications
Age Limit Not exceeding 40 years for scientist-C and 35 years for scientist-B
Emoluments
c) Scientist-C
Consolidated salary of Rs.47,730 + Rs. 8,325 as HRA per month for Medical
Consolidated salary of Rs.38,184 + Rs. 6,660 as HRA per month for Non-Medical
d) Scientist-B
Consolidated salary of Rs.45,150+ Rs. 7,875 as HRA per month for Medical
Consolidated salary of Rs.36,120 + Rs. 6,300 as HRA per month for Non-Medical
Nature of Duties
 Give training and mentorship for HETP trainees
 Provide technical and management oversight, and strategic thinking for the development of the course and implementation of activities of HETP
 Teach courses in other public health training programs of NIE as per his/her expertise and program requirement
 Give training and mentorship for HETP trainees
 Provide technical and management oversight, and strategic thinking for the development of the course and implementation of activities of HETP
Duration Up to 30-th June 2014
Special note If no suitable candidate is found for scientist-C, the post may be filled as scientist-B with essential qualification (a) and salary (d) mentioned above.
The incumbents selected will have no claim for regular appointments or continuation of his/her services in any project of ICMR. Upper Age limit is as mentioned against the post as on the date of interview. Relaxation of 5 years, 3 years and 10 years in age will be admissible to SC/ST, OBC and PWD candidates respectively (on production of relevant / latest certificate).
Prospective Candidates shall attend the Walk-in-interview with All Original Certificates, Testimonials, Xerox copy of certificates pertaining to the Qualification, Experience, Age & Community. The candidate should submit five copies of application in the prescribed format given below.
Candidates without producing the Original Certificates will not be entertained. TA/DA will not be paid by NIE for attending the interview. The Director/Selection Committee has the right to shortlist and prioritize the candidates based on their application and interview.
